Introducing Kason Dalesandro
Kason Jeffrey Dalesandro was born on LEAP DAY - 2/29/12 and was 7lbs 14oz and 19 inches long. He was delivered by his very own father! We love him so much and already notice that he is a super calm baby. Other than a scare with Jaundice, he has been a blessing and fits into our family perfectly! This was his first snap shot.

Big brother Lincoln has been very patient with Mommy and Daddy. He shows little jealousy but also lets us know when it is his turn for attention:) Here he is at the park blowing off some energy. More pictures to come!

Updates
I have been really bad about posting lately, but I do want to share a few new exciting things going on in the Dalesandro household.
1. I went to the OB yesterday to get a checkup and I am 50% effaced, 1 cm dilated and +1 station! Dr. Austin said I could go early and she is expecting me to the last week of Feb! I hope it isn't going to be a Leap Year birth!! Darcy is due the 26th but she is 40% effaced, and +2 station. I am thinking she may go the week of the 17th?? So exciting to meet these little boys!
2. We are just now starting to prepare the house, and ourselves, for this little man to come. I have been reading Lincoln "Big Brother" books every night. He rubs my belly and says, "baby" every day and even kisses it. I hope he adjusts well when he does become a big brother, right now he is really clingy and wants all of our attention.
3. We rented our house!!! It was so stressful but we did it! We found 3 adorable D2 girls (dental students in the second year) who are going to lease the house starting in June. We were able to negotiate where we break even rather than lose money every month in rent. I am so relieved and happy to have that out of the way. Now we can enjoy our house for the next few months and not worry about strangers ringing the doorbell wanting to look inside. Thank you ADAM, he is still on his A game when it comes to real-estate!!
4. Adam went down to Tucson to check out the additions to my Dad's office being built just for him! My mom turned her "office" room into another operatory for Adam. It is underway and should be done soon. It seems surreal that he is going to have his own work space with his diplomas up on the wall. He is well on his way to starting work and we cannot wait to see that very first paycheck:) Lots to be thankful for!!
5. He also was checking out rentals for US. It will be exciting to see where we land in Tucson. I would love to live up North where our families are, but the fun is in the chase and we look forward to "house hunting" in the next few months.
6. My friends and family threw me a surprise "sprinkle" last weekend in Tucson. I was completely shocked and surprised they pulled it off! I usually can sniff those things out, but I was so busy working on Dana's shower that I didn't catch the obvious hints. Dana had an owl themed baby shower for her little girl (Greta is her name for now). It was absolutely adorable and so much fun!! I have another sprinkle held by my dental wife friends this Sunday. I am so happy that I met such nice people up here. This little nameless boy is so blessed!
7. Lastly, Lincoln is growing like a weed!! He sings and dances and knows all his ABCs, shapes, colors and 1-20. He wakes up talking about what he did the day before (his memory is amazing!) and can't wait to share what is on his mind. He is a very verbal child. He loves to go to the mailbox and count garbage cans....to me this is hilarious because he asks to do it daily. BIG CACTUS and BEAUTIFUL MOUNTAINS are on his list of things to say all the time. He points to airplanes and the moon and anything he can recite back to you. He wants to be right all the time. He wears pullups and size 9 shoes!! I just love watching him grow up. He is going to be a big brother soon which makes me a little sad, but I know he is going to adore his little brother and teach him everything he knows in that smart little head of his.
Wish us luck, who knows when #2 will decide to make his debut!!

My first "PANIC" as a mom
This weekend Adam is out of town for a snowboarding trip with some of his Dental School buddies. Lincoln has become so attached to his Daddy lately and I think he sensed he was gone. At 4:30am Lincoln woke up with a nightmare and was pretty upset that Daddy wasn't the one comforting him. He kept asking for him and even as I was explaining that "Daddy went bye bye but will be home soon...," he was not about to go back to sleep. I decided to let him sleep with me in my bed. For an hour I tried everything, singing him back to sleep, telling him stories, rocking him, then finally he was quiet. I guess I fell back asleep because the next thing I knew, it was 8:30. I saw a lump in the sheets and figured it was Lincoln. As I was looking at the sheets, I noticed it wasn't moving...no breathing motions. I lifted up the sheet...and he wasn't there. I looked all over the bed, nothing. I jumped out of bed thinking he fell off and broke his neck while I was sleeping so I ran around to the other side of the bed, nothing. The door was open and I ran to his room, nothing. The gate was still locked so he couldn't have fallen down the stairs...where was he??? Just as the tears were about to start, I ran back into the master bedroom to check out where our dog sleeps (in the closet) and found Lincoln snuggled up to Saylor in the dog bed! Somehow while I was asleep, he slipped off of our high bed and found the dog. What relief! And then I enjoyed the cute moment by taking a picture with my iphone - I wish I knew how to upload it onto the blog!! Anyway, he woke up happy and refreshed. I guess if it isn't Daddy who is comforting him, it is the dog....I am ok with it:) I know he loves me too!

Train Park
On Saturday, Darcy, Lincoln and I went to the Train Park. It was our first time and it was such fun! Lincoln loved all the trains (choo choos) and rode the Merry-Go-Round and the Holiday train. We need to come back one night to see all the Christmas lights!! I think I have an idea of where his 2 year old party might be:))
He wouldn't go on the Merry-Go-Round without me on the horse....I think it has been a decade or more since I have been on one myself!
Now we are on the train ride.
Aunt "Dardats"

Riding along the tracks.
Going through a tunnel.
There was a huge playground...too big to get a decent picture. We had fun chasing him everywhere.
Going down the big slide by himself.
This one was really big so I went with him...ouch!
We are so excited for Christmas. He says, "TREEEEE" every time he sees a Christmas tree. I cannot wait for him to help decorate ours this year.

He even sat by himself like a big boy:)

Happy Holidays!
The holidays are right around the corner so that means it is Christmas picture time! Capturing Moments of Bliss (aka, Jamie Gibbs) took our family pictures in a pecan grove in Gilbert, Arizona last weekend. She did such a great job, especially since we had a squirmy toddler! I didn't post every picture, only a few "sneak peaks"...our Christmas card is in the works and those pictures will be saved until they are sent. I am so ready for the Holidays this year, I think Lincoln is going to go nuts with all the excitement!

Slow "poke"
Well, when it rains, it pours....
For the last 4 years, our dog Saylor has had some issues with her hyperplasia in her mouth. For those who don't have a dental background, that means her gums overgrew her teeth. She has an underbite so she never chews on her front teeth anyway. We noticed a few years back that she collects some of her hair between her top incisors. I guess when she licks her paws, she also chews on her hair to release an itch?? Who knows!! We used tweezers and brushed around it but nothing would get it all out...so gross!!! We left it alone figuring it would one day blow up at us, but until then she could just deal with it the best she could. Last week I started to notice she wanted more water, and she was clingy to me. Her breath STUNK and I figured the mountain of hair that accumulated in between her teeth finally caught up to us. Well, I was right. Last night, while I held a flashlight and did the best to hold her head still, Adam opened her mouth and then both of us saw it......be prepared for a nasty visual...her teeth had overlapped each other, one being almost diagonal with the other behind it, and her gums made a W shape from the swelling and the infection. The worst part was in between the spaces of the W, were CHUNKS of hair...I thought they were sticks....it was everywhere. Adam tried his best with the tweezers and got little out since she was fighting back. The poor thing was in so much pain:( I felt awful. So this morning was the start of a day of "pokes"...I had my ob appointment and had to get some blood drawn. I actually did well for once, and if you know me, you know I usually pass out with needles. The baby looks great, measures correctly and has a healthy heartbeat. Then it was Saylor's turn. She had to get blood taken too. Her diagnoses is 2 teeth to be extracted and a cleaning, all under anesthesia which is going to total around $7oo...now that is a BIG poke!! My appointments all cost too...I have to pay 5 installments of $360 to total $1800 because our insurance has a high deductible and we self-pay. It is never fun dealing with these huge bills right before Christmas:(( Surgery is scheduled for Saylor on Tuesday so she should be on antibiotics and pain meds for Thanksgiving. Now, tomorrow Lincoln gets his share of pokes:( I am finally getting his chicken pox and mmr vaccines taken care of. I know my sister and mom would be so happy I am doing this, I hate going and getting his shots but I know they must be done. Wish me luck tomorrow when I have to hold him down!! Lucky Adam, he is the only one in the family that isn't getting poked this week!

Halloween weekend
This weekend was full of Halloween parties, the State Fair and of course, Trick-or-Treating. On Friday night, we went to our dental friend's "spooktacular" party and dressed up for the occasion. Lincoln thought chasing the dog, and being chased was the highlight of his night! I love his face in this picture:)
The hostess, Natalie, and me.
Adam was Jason Terry and his friend Jeremy was....no clue.
Natalie and Curtis.
We were the first ones at the party...and the first to go:(
His buddy, Derrick, showed up and the two of them had a dance party.
He likes to hold my hand.
Spinning.
Baby Quince Claire.
On Saturday night, Darcy, Anthony, Lincoln and I went to the Arizona State Fair. Adam was a good dental student and stayed home to study.
Turkey races. Lincoln liked the truck, but the turkeys scared him.
So many rides!! We only went on the Merry-Go-Round but it was too fast to get a good picture. It was Lincoln's first ever carnival ride! He loved it!!
Funny mirrors.
The petting farm!
Goats...Aunt Dana would NOT have liked this area, there must have been hundreds of them!
We had such a great time! We won lots of stuffed toys from the games. Lincoln's favorite was Papa Smurf:)
Anthony had Lincoln on his shoulders ALL NIGHT. Talk about a great view:) My camera died after this picture so I didn't get any night shots of the games we played, so disappointing!
Halloween was the best! Our neighborhood is so fun to go trick-or-treating. Everyone sits out in their front driveway and passes candy out. Adam stayed back at the house to study and hand out candy while Darcy and I took Lincoln in his wagon. He ran so fast I had to chase him because of the cars...unfortunately, I didn't get a very good picture of him getting candy. I had the video camera so hopefully we got some good footage! Lincoln is about to leave the driveway with an empty spider basket...it comes back overflowed!
Derrick was a monster!
The end of the night...wiped out. I can't wait until next year when Adam doesn't have to stay behind. Then we can get some good pictures of the family:)

More Gymboree pictures
I have been surviving on these smoothie drinks! They are so yummy and full of fruit and vitamins. They were on sale at Safeway so I stalked up on my favorite flavors. They also have chocolate and vanilla smoothie drinks:) I was in the middle of drinking the Red Rhapsody so that is why it is almost empty:)
Here is Lincoln giving his teacher, Kaitlin, a hug at Gymboree. He goes right up to the door and enters himself. Now he stops and says hello to the teachers first.
His best pal, Parker the Super Hero.
Yesterday he was Woody from Toy Story. He didn't wear the hat in class very long. Sorry about the mess, he does help clean up.
My Little Sheriff.
You are under arrest for being to dang cute!!
